Gopher wire is a heavy-duty, galvanized steel mesh that is used to protect landscapes from gophers. It is a hexagonal mesh with 3/4″ holes that allows moisture and soil nutrients to pass through. The wire is 20 gauge and is galvanized after weaving to make it strong and resistant to corrosion.
