There are very minimal things that you can do to keep your artificial turf in excellent condition. You just need to wash it with a mild soap then rinse afterwards. You can use a brush or sponge in cleaning but be sure not to be too abrasive while cleaning.

Real grass at your yard might be natural but will require too much effort on your part. You must maintain it to look good like watering it on a regular basis, trim it perfectly, use pesticides, and can be gross at times especially on wet weather. Having said so, it can be a much cheaper and hassle-free alternative for natural grass.
